The youthful spirit of MP Youth Congress

Posted on: June 13, 2011

While Sonia Gandhi’s nominated Congress in Madhya Pradesh is yet to stir out of its deep and prolonged slumber, the State Youth Congress office-bearers, elected under the guidelines issued by Rahul Gandhi, are showing more aliveness than necessary. This animation, though, is not directed against the BJP government or in the cause of the public at large (if one excludes the entertainment part).
The Youth Congress leaders freely used fisticuffs and lathis towards the end of May at the first meeting of office-bearers convened at the PCC office in Bhopal after the election process was completed. Some of the injured had to be hospitalised while the police had to be summoned to control the situation.
The issue was who among the rival group leaders should enter first into the meeting hall. After all, that is the youthful spirit.
It goes to the credit of the Youth Congress leaders that they believe in transparency in all their affairs. This free for all took place in full view of media persons who were invited for a press conference followed by lunch.

Value of propaganda

Adolf Hitler believed in the use of propaganda as an integral element to seizing and holding on to political power. His maxim was 'the bigger the lie, the more easily it will be believed, provided it is repeated vigorously and often enough'. (Sean Murphy in his book 'Letting the Side Down')
